We have exceptional training under the guidance of our proprietor Claire Hyde, B.Sc., P.G.C.E., who has been grooming since 1994. With a vast range of experience gained through her lecturing position, Claire has developed various courses for those wishing to enter the Dog Grooming profession.

Claire established Classic Canine Cuts & The Dog Grooming School, in 2001 in Blackwood, South Wales, UK.
Following six years teaching Dog Grooming at two local Further Education Colleges.
At first Claire employed one grooming assistant and since then the school and the dog grooming business has flourished and we have welcomed thousands of dogs and their owners through the doors and hundreds of students too!
In 2002 the salon won New Business of the Year, the largest of all the categories with over 16 entrants and awarded by Caerphilly Borough County Council.

Students are able to see how staff interact with not only the dogs but their owners too.
We are a City & Guilds and OCN approved assessment centre.
Our advice to any prospective student, who is intent on a career in dog grooming is to insist that your trainer is a City & Guilds or OCN qualified trainer and ideally the grooming school is a City & Guilds and OCN approved assessment centre, as proof of quality grooming and teaching practise.

For students that live further afield, we are able to provide accommodation.
The accommodation is situated next to the Grooming School, thus cutting out the need to commute.
Due to this fantastic option students have attended the School from all over the UK and Internationally too.
A separate viewing gallery is provided for those students who wish to continue their studies in the evening as a large selection of grooming media is available.

Canine cuts is the only place Canelo can be groomed after a bad experience.
They are great with him and have always comforted me that my fur baby will be well looked after, he comes out clean and beautifully cut!
