I am Nicola Hopley and I am the founder and owner of The Newcastle K9 Group which includes Newcastle K9 Hydrotherapy, Newcastle K9 Day Care and Newcastle K9 Nutrition.
Founded in 2009 my aim was to to provide dogs and their owners with a bespoke, friendly, professional and reliable service helping to bridge the gap between a dog owner's work and holiday commitments and their need for a high standard of dog care.
After all dogs are a part of our families, and we all want the very best for them.
In 2014 I was joined by my husband Stuart and my brother James, making us truly a family business.
As a hydrotherapist I hold an ABC accredited Level 3 Certificate in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals.
In order to achieve this it was necessary to complete the following mandatory units:.
I am also completing the Level 3 Diploma in Small Animal Hydrotherapy and have completed the unit on:.
Rehabilitation, the Consultation and using Counter Conditioning (CC) & Systematic Sensitisation (S)DS.
I am also qualified as a raw food advisor which cover all aspects of feeding your canine or feline a biologically species appropriate diet and able to give advice on dietary supplements.
I had pondered for a while about getting a dog as I work full time.
An American work colleague mentioned Doggy Day Care becoming very popular in the States so I googled it for the Newcastle area and found Gosforth K9 Day Care.
Coco goes there full time and she absolutely loves it.
She has company while I'm at work, has the opportunity to play outside in the garden and in the house with other dogs, and gets taken out for proper walks.
The pick up and drop off by Nicky is a real bonus, she is extremely reliable and flexible if I need to change days, and I come home to a very tired and contented dog.
Newcastle K9 Day Care provides your dog with a loving, safe and fun filled place, to keep your dog occupied during the day.
If you worry that your dog is lonely and bored whilst you are at work or find that your dog is chewing and barking, then day care may be the solution to all these worries.
Recent research has shown that as many as 85% of dogs suffer from some degree of separation anxiety.
At day care your dogs will have lovely walks, fun, focused driven exercises, affection, companionship and plenty of time to play.
Bringing home your new puppy is a very exciting time but as much fun as it is, it is also hard work.
Puppies require different amounts of care depending upon their age, breed and temperament.
Young puppies require 4 meals a day, endless opportunities to go to the toilet and time spent toilet training, as well as lots of attention and sleep.
It can be particularly hectic if you have to go back to work and you don't want them to be left alone all day, as it is generally recommended that young puppies are not left for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
